MOCO Gallery, Halls Gap, is my home exhibition base. This lovely gallery in café-garden setting is 4 km south of the shops on Grampians Rd.
The gallery displays a wide range of original work. My favourite medium currently is acrylic, and paintings range from small to quite large, around 1m x 1.5m. Smaller works include illustrations from children’s books, and other work in pastel, pen/watercolour and acrylic.
Giclee prints of many of my paintings are a more economical way of taking home some artwork, numbered and signed by the artist.
An “open commission” has proven a popular purchase method for prospective buyers.
If you are attracted to a sold painting, which you might have purchased if not already taken, you can advise gallery owner, Denise. I tend to paint many subjects again and again, and we can advise you when I am starting another version of the subject which attracted you.
We send you a rough sketch of the proposed painting. You simply receive first option to purchase. This way, there is no binding commission contract, the prospective purchaser has no obligation to buy, and there is no pressure on the artist to comply with a buyer’s requirements. It works very well and I’ve sold numerous works this way. The painting, if not sold by open commission, simply goes into general gallery display.
